Soil Injection
The insecticide Imidacloprid is injected around the root zone of the tree where it is taken up by the roots and translocated to the foliage. When the beetle eating the foliage, they injest the chemical and die.

This treatment is very effective and can protect the tree for more than one season.

The best time for this treatment is August to October, although later treatments are effective providing there is sufficient moisture in the soil.

Biological Control
